KUNG SHIN TYAN
Ms. Kung Shin Tyan, Abigail obtained her LL.B. from the University of London (External) and earned a Master’s degree in Commercial Law with distinction from the University of Malaya in 2023. She currently serves as an Independent Director of a public-listed company in Malaysia, where she is an active member of the Risk and Audit Committee, Remuneration Committee, and Nomination Committee.
From her early legal training as an intern at Messrs Khor Ong & Company—an established, well-known law firm in Penang—Ms. Kung acquired foundational expertise in advising on corporate structures, shareholder agreements, and regulatory compliance. She spent four years interning at the firm before being admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 14 October 2012, after obtaining a Second Upper in the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) examination and ranking among the top three candidates that year. Post-admission, she practiced at Messrs Khor Ong & Company for three years, handling a diverse portfolio of banking litigation and recovery matters, further broadening her dispute resolution skills.
Ms. Kung’s experience also extends to high-level corporate transactions. In her role as a Legal Advisor at an international financial institution in Malaysia, she provided strategic counsel on matters ranging from corporate financing to joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions, ensuring compliance with local and international banking and financial regulations. Subsequently, she served as Legal Counsel at the Asia Regional Headquarters of a multinational Japanese corporation in Singapore, where she negotiated and drafted cross-border commercial contracts, advised on commercial and regulatory frameworks, and spearheaded risk-management strategies to safeguard the company’s interests in the Asia-Pacific region.
Throughout her career, Ms. Kung has developed a reputation for her adept handling of complex corporate and commercial issues—including but not limited to corporate restructuring, shareholder disputes, and strategic regulatory compliance—and for delivering creative, innovative solutions to resolve intricate litigious challenges. Her ability to navigate multifaceted negotiations and manage high-stakes litigation underscores her commitment to achieving favorable outcomes for her clients.

VIVIAN TAN
Vivian obtained her LL.B from University of London and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2013.
Vivian possesses vast legal knowledge in the area related to non-contentious legal work, as well as matters which require dispute resolution.
For non-contentious legal work, Vivian advises clients in a broad spectrum of legal matters encompassing the areas of banking, finance & real estate transactions, to complex corporate, commercial & contractual transactions, as well as family law [such as wills, trusts, and estate management].
In the dispute resolution front, Vivian is an experienced civil litigator focussing in the area of corporate & commercial litigation, as well as complex family law-related disputes involving divorce, custody, and succession. Another key focus of hers is the area of construction law, where she has amongst others represented a sub-contactor before the public inquiry, held to investigate into the highly publicised landslide incident which occurred on a construction site in Penang, that resulted in several fatalities.
Additionally, Vivian is also a Collaborative Practitioner, adept in facilitating the voluntary dispute resolution process, which enables the settlement of disputes without resorting to court litigation.
